I started a tradition several years ago of creating a needlepoint tallit bag and possible atara as Bar/Bat Mitzvah gifts for nieces and nephews. I didn't do this for my kids because I wasn't comfortable enough with my work to use for such a special gift. It was after my kids were grown that this tradition began. First, there was Heather's with the flower motif.
Then came Jonathan's with the strong lions.
Now comes Laura's with a contemporary landscape of Jerusalem in bright colors.
Laura has helped me select all of the fibers for this project at the Rose Cottage in Newtown, PA.
How this project progresses will be the purpose of this blog. The deadline...April 24, 2010. Hope you enjoy!
